Our McCall, Idaho Harry Potter inspired engagement session still gives me the heeby jeebies. When two of your best friends approach you and ask you to take updated photos of them... it's the biggest compliment in the world. The better I know someone, the more I'm inspired, and I wanted to deliver photos that Glenna and Alex would treasure for the rest of their lives that told their story.
One of the first things I found out about them as a couple is that Alex proposed by using a Harry Potter book, gluing the pages together to contain a ring and blocking out words in the first few pages to spell out a love letter. I mean, right? Your heart is melting, isn't it?!
We also knew we wanted to head to the mountains. I scouted, thought, and spent hours on Pinterest coming up with ideas to throw at them. What resulted is one of my favorite sessions I've ever done. At the last moment, we got clouds instead of sun and I panicked thinking all of my bright, airy, and sunny photo ideas were ruined. Instead, we got these beautiful fall photos that bring out the mood and colors of the lake and woods of McCall. It was the biggest honor to photograph their love. <3

Jake & Valerie: Outdoor Fall Wedding in Moscow, Idaho
When Kate Jennings Photography emailed me and asked to help her photograph a wedding, I jumped up and down for five minutes while trying to type an immediate YES!!!! in my reply. Her emphasis on natural light photography and creating authentic images from REAL moments is so in line with my style and what I want to achieve. Her career is definitely one I look up to and admire, as she juggles her 4 beautiful girls at home and photography business. As a person, she is bubbly and hilarious. Hanging out all day was such a blessing.
I got to return home to Moscow to photograph Jake & Val's wedding with her. There is nothing better than Moscow, Idaho in the fall and as I discovered, a fall wedding on the Palouse with a view of the rolling hills . The weather was perfect for Jake and Val's October wedding. I instantly felt connected to this lovely couple. There is truly something so romantic and touching when a couple has been together for years and years before tying the knot- knowing they've gone through years of ups & downs and chosen each other over and over again. I was nearly in tears myself during their first look at Jake's face alone when he saw his bride for the first time that day. Fist pumps, tears, and gasp after gasp.
Looking through this gallery makes me incredibly proud. I love the images from this day.
