A few months ago, I got to photograph Ahmani and Jason's vow renewal at the Paramount Ranch in the Agoura Hills of California. I had never once been to LA or the California area so it was a treat as an Idaho gal to be flown to LA to shoot the love of one of my dearest friends.
I met Ahmani in Shakespeare class during our very last semester in college. Finding each other felt meant to be. The entire semester, I watched Ahmani text her husband, who lived in Canada. She glowed whenever she talked about him or talked to him on the phone. Within the first ten minutes of meeting her, she showed me pictures of them taken on her phone at their secret elopement this summer in Montana and told me they were planning a grand vow renewal the following summer. That semester, I learned so much from Ahmani about having grace and patience in a relationship and marriage when separated in different countries.
Ahmani and Jason held their vow renewal at the Paramount Ranch in California. I was squealing a little bit when I realized we were in Justin Bieber's neighborhood and that Lizzie McGuire had been filmed here. Their ceremony was intimate and small with only their closest family and friends. Ahmani put her heart into every detail. She did all of her own flowers, all of the decorations, all of the table placements. Every single detail was Ahmani. She thrifted her own wedding dress at a consignment store and photographing her was like moving through a time machine.
We went with a first look for these two. And after a lovely ceremony, I stole Ahmani and Jason for some sunset photos.
*PAUSE*
When I tell people to make time during their reception for some sunset photos, even just 15 minutes, THIS!!! IS!!! WHY!!! For 15 minutes, we had the golden California sun by our sides and we took some of my favorite photos of the entire day at sunset.

Military Reserve in Boise, Idaho: Toddler Family Mini-Session
I have been LOVING my mini-family sessions this fall. This mini-family session in Military Reserve Park in Boise, Idaho is one of my favorites to date.
After rescheduling once already, Sarah and I both decided maybe we were meant to take pictures in the rain.
I shy away from cloudy days, but truthfully, both times this has happened in the past couple of months, the photos turned out AMAZING.
It helps to have babies who have big fat cheeks, drool-y mouths, poky front teeth, and the best smile ever. It was raining every second we were taking these shots and the little dude didn't mind at all. He smiled, clapped his hands, and didn't seem to mind that it was 40 degrees and rainy. And here I thought I was cray for dragging a 6 month old out in the rain!
Sarah, Zac, and Miles, thank you for letting me be the one to take your family photos. I see so much love and joy in the way you all look at each other in these pictures.
